Initiatives underway to repatriate Nepali workers stranded in Saudi Arabia

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Saudi Arabia has launched efforts to repatriate Nepali workers who lost their jobs at the Jubail-based Sendan International Company following its bankruptcy.

Of the 469 affected Nepali workers, many have requested assistance in securing unpaid salaries, repatriation to Nepal, or transfer to other companies within Saudi Arabia.

In response, the Embassy has assured that it is actively pursuing diplomatic channels to address their concerns.

According to the Embassy, the necessary documentation has already been submitted to the relevant Saudi labor office to facilitate the issuance of exit visas for those who wish to return to Nepal.

The Embassy has formally requested the Saudi authorities to expedite the process, particularly for workers formerly employed by Sendan International.

Efforts are also underway in coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Labor and other relevant agencies to ensure that workers can either return home after receiving their due compensation or transfer legally to other companies for continued employment.

The Embassy has urged affected Nepali citizens to remain patient and to contact embassy officials for support regarding food, accommodation, and healthcare if needed.
