General Secretary Pandey honored in his home district

KATHMANDU: Rajendra Prasad Pandey, General Secretary of the Public Library Association, has been honored in his home district, Syangja.

Think Tank Syangja presented him with the “Exemplary Leadership Honor 2082” at a ceremony in Walling, the district headquarters, in recognition of his significant contributions to literature, knowledge, social service, and child welfare.

Receiving the award, Pandey expressed his joy at being honored in the land of his birth on the first day of the Nepali New Year.

He said he was proud to have realized the dream of his father and other elders by establishing a well-equipped Matribhoomi Library in his native village of Birgha. He also pledged to expand the initiative across the district.

Highlighting that it is his generation’s responsibility to build upon Syangja’s educational legacy, Pandey added that the Public Library Association is committed to advancing educational opportunities for children both within Nepal and abroad.

The Think Tank, known for its advocacy on education, development, and entrepreneurship, also launched a three-day fair on education, skills, and entrepreneurship in the district alongside the award program.
