Deuba calls for dialogue to address teachers’ demands



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called on the government to respond to the genuine demands of protesting teachers through dialogue and mutual understanding.

Speaking at an event organized by the Nepal Muslim Association at the party’s headquarters in Sanepa on Sunday, Deuba emphasized that any issues regarding the teachers’ concerns should be resolved through open discussion.

“If there are obstacles in addressing the demands, both sides should be willing to sit down and find a solution,” he stated.

Deuba also underlined the strength of Nepal’s constitution in promoting inclusion, saying it allows for broad representation even if no single party secures a majority. “Our constitution is a solid framework for inclusive and proportional representation,” he noted.

He added that the Nepali Congress has followed these principles within the party, ensuring representation from all communities, including the Muslim community.

“There is significant Muslim representation in the Congress, and the party remains committed to inclusivity,” Deuba said.
