The Forest, Environment and Disaster Management Committee of the municipality on Friday distributed rescue materials like life jackets, belts, rubber tubes, torchlight, helmets and stretchers to ward no 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, said Committee Coordinator Prakash Thapa.

These wards are located downstream of the Mahakali River and facing much vulnerability of river flooding.

The Nepali Army has now been constructing embankment along the Mahakali River to protect the settlements from flood,” he added.
