FNCCI, CAMFEBA sign MoU to boost bilateral trade cooperation

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Cambodian Federation of Employers and Business Associations (CAMFEBA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The MoU was signed on June 10 during a program held in Geneva, Switzerland, by FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal and CAMFEBA Vice President Sok Lor. Nepal’s Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, was also present at the signing.

According to FNCCI President Dhakal’s Secretariat, the agreement emphasizes the exchange of best practices in employment, labor laws, and enterprise development. Both sides have committed to joint initiatives focused on research, capacity building, and investment promotion.

The MoU outlines collaboration in business-to-business (B2B) activities, identification of trade partners, cooperation between trade forums, and mutual support in exploring investment opportunities. It also includes areas such as entrepreneurship, industrial relations, human resources, professional security, skill development, and investment facilitation.

CAMFEBA Vice President Sok Lor expressed optimism that the agreement would create new opportunities, foster regional cooperation, and establish a strong network between the business communities of both countries.

President Dhakal stated that the MoU is expected to deepen economic ties between Nepal and Cambodia and contribute to creating a more inclusive business environment. He added that regular consultations and coordinated efforts will be arranged to ensure effective implementation of the agreement.

Also present at the signing were FNCCI Vice President Jyotsana Shrestha, Executive Member Babukaji Karki, and CAMFEBA Executive Director Tep Sophoan.
