KATHMANDU: The newly-elected executive committee members of the Private and Residential Schools Association of Nepal (PABSON), an organization of private school operators, took the oath of office at the 16th National Convention held in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Krishna Adhikari, the newly elected president, expressed his commitment to enhancing the quality of education in PABSON-affiliated schools during his tenure.
He emphasized that the quality education provided by private schools in Nepal is gaining international recognition and vowed to continue globalizing the education system.
Adhikari outlined the key priorities for his leadership, with the recently introduced education bill by the government being his foremost concern.
He stated that he would work to ensure private schools remain under the company system, allowing them to be passed down through generations.
“Our first priority is the education bill. It is crucial that our schools remain under the company system. We joined the company in 2058 BS, and we want to maintain that structure,” he said.
“Secondly, we aim to continue improving education quality and curriculum. Private schools in Nepal are internationally recognized for their high standards, and we intend to continue globalizing Nepal’s education system,” he said.
He added that they aim to make the 5,000 private schools in PABSON excellent institutions that offer quality education and create better opportunities for students, teachers, and parents.
The new office bearers include Gopal Acharya as the co-chairman, Deepika Rimal as the senior vice-president, Ashish Shrestha and Thakin Kumar Gurung as vice-presidents, RB Katuwal as the general secretary, Ganesh Babu Pokharel as the treasurer, and Pralhad Khanal and Karmawangel Lama as central members.
