KATHMANDU: A group calling itself the “Gen-Z Alliance for Monarchy” has issued a warning of rebellion. In a statement released on Saturday, the group claimed to represent the “true Gen-Z” generation and accused the current government and political leadership of sidelining genuine patriotic and nationalist youths.
The group alleged that the representatives invited for talks with the prime minister and the president were either affiliated with political parties’ student organizations or were members of foreign INGOs acting against Nepal’s national interests.
“We, the true Gen-Z group of patriotic and nationalist youths, are frustrated and peacefully enraged by your one-sided and exclusionary actions. You are pushing us toward a genuine rebellion,” the statement read.
The group further appealed to immediately halt what it called “a one-sided dialogue” between the president and prime minister in the name of Gen-Z, urging them instead to seek an all-party consensus. “Otherwise, those involved in this process—including the president, prime minister, ministers, political parties, media, and intellectuals—must take responsibility for any consequences that may arise,” it warned.
The group also accused the president and prime minister of holding discussions with political party activists and foreign agents under the banner of Gen-Z.
It further stated that the martyrs and injured fighters from the recent movement were not affiliated with any corrupt leaders, political parties, or foreign INGOs, asserting that those who fought were true patriots, while those attempting to exploit the movement were aligned with the old corrupt establishment.
