Postal road conveniences Narainapur people

RANJHA: Narainapur, a remote place located beyond the Rapti River in Banke district, has been convenienced with its access to a postal way.

Taj Mohammad Khan from Narainapur rural municipality-4 said the construction of the postal road had made them easier to reach Nepalgunj city- only half an hour bus ride now.

“Before construction of the postal way, we were bound to go through India to reach Nepalgunj from Narainapur. But the postal road has become a lifeline to us,” he explained.

Four passenger buses run from Nepalgunj to Narainapur every day on the newly built road.

The access to road also facilitated Narainapur people’s easy access to health and education, according to Sohan Lal Yadav. “It was difficult for us to take the sick people to health facilities earlier. Now, the ambulance arrives at our village, thereby making us comfortable to secure health facility quickly,” he said, adding that that students travelling to Nepalgunj for higher study have also felt huge relief.

Even the dependence of Narainapur people on Indian market declined radically with the direct connection to Nepalgunj. Chairman of Narainapur rural municipality, Ishtiyak Ahmad Sah, informed the people from the rural municipality had seen a sweeping change following the construction of postal way and operation of passenger buses on it.

The people, however, had to wait for two decades to realize the road since its concept was floated.
