Roshi River floods disrupt BP Highway, making even pedestrian travel difficult

KATHMANDU: Heavy rains have caused the Roshi River to flood, damaging sections of the BP Highway and making even pedestrian travel challenging.

The floods and landslides have blocked vehicular traffic, forcing travelers to walk to reach their destinations.

In areas along the BP Highway, from Chowkidaanda to various parts of Kavrepalanchok, the Armed Police Force (APF) has set up temporary pedestrian tracks to ease foot travel. The APF’s 15th battalion, deployed for monsoon disaster relief, is also assisting travelers returning to Kathmandu via Chowkidaanda during the festive season.

While vehicles can operate from Dhulikhel to Chowkidaanda, some sections remain completely blocked. Landslides have damaged 17 locations along the highway, with repair work underway in certain areas.
