Madhesh CM Krishna Yadav to take oath today



JANAKPURDHAM: Krishna Yadav, who was appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province on Friday evening, is set to take the oath of office and secrecy today.

The oath ceremony has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, according to Provincial Assembly Parliamentary Party leader Mahesh Yadav.

“The Chief Minister will take the oath today, but it has not yet been decided whether other ministers will be appointed alongside him,” Yadav said.

Yadav, the Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party leader, was appointed Chief Minister under Article 168(2) of the Constitution with the support of 77 MPs from seven parties, excluding the UML.

His backing includes 22 MPs from Nepali Congress, 18 from JSP, 12 from Janamat, 9 from the Maoist Center, 8 from the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, 7 from the Unified Socialist, and 1 from the Nagarik Unmukti Party.
