FonePay named Highest Taxpayer in ICT Sector



KATHMANDU: Digital payment platform FonePayhas been recognized by the Government of Nepal as the highest taxpayer in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.

On the occasion of the 8th National ICT Day, Prime Minister KP Oli presented a certificate of appreciation to FonePay CEO Diwas Kumar at a ceremony held in Kathmandu.

The company stated that the recognition underscores its commitment to responsible tax practices and its contribution to Nepal’s digital transformation.

“This recognition highlights the significant role FonePay has played in the development and growth of Nepal’s ICT ecosystem,” the company said in a statement.

“As a leader in digital financial services, FonePay remains dedicated to promoting a cashless economy, advancing financial inclusion, and creating solutions that empower both consumers and businesses.”

CEO Kumar added, “We are honored by this recognition from the Government of Nepal. At FonePay, we believe responsible corporate citizenship goes hand in hand with innovation.
