NEA announces power outages in several areas of Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Several areas in Kathmandu will experience power outages throughout the day today.

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced that power cuts will take place in various locations across Kathmandu for maintenance and other purposes.

In an official notice, the NEA informed that the power supply would be disrupted in several areas due to loop-in and loop-out work on the Bhaktapur Chapali 132 kV transmission line at the 132 kV substation currently under construction by the Authority.

During this time, power may be affected in areas supplied by 11 kV feeders operated from substations under the Kathmandu Grid Division, as well as 11 and 33 kV feeders operated by substations under the Hetauda Grid Division and Butwal Grid Division, according to the notice.

The NEA has stated that electricity transmission in areas covered by the Baneshwor, Ratnapark, Jorpati, Balaju, and Kuleshwor distribution centers in Kathmandu will be interrupted from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Additionally, the NEA’s notice mentions that electricity transmission to the feeders supplied by substations under the Hetauda Grid Division and Butwal Grid Division will also be disrupted for nine hours on Saturday.
