Govt allocates additional Rs 3.84 billion for health programs



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Finance has released an additional Rs 3.84 billion to support various health-related programs, including health insurance payments and free treatment initiatives.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel approved the funds following a request from the Ministry of Health and Population.

Of the total amount, Rs 3 billion has been allocated to the Health Insurance Board, Rs 600 million will be used for the treatment of senior citizens, and Rs 240 million has been directed to the Shaheed Gangalal National Heart Center to provide free treatment for heart disease patients.

The additional funding aims to strengthen Nepal’s healthcare system, ensuring access to essential medical services for vulnerable populations.
