NEPSE sees modest rise with 2.81-point increase



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a modest gain on Thursday, rising by 2.81 points to reach 2,702.86 points.

The day’s trading session witnessed a turnover of approximately Rs 8 billion, with a total of 15.5 million shares of 93 companies being traded. The total value of shares exchanged amounted to 7.84 billion rupees.

However, the session saw a mixed performance among companies, with the share prices of 93 companies increasing, while 151 companies saw their stock prices decline. No company’s share price remained stable throughout the day.

The market saw a total of 69,089 transactions involving shares from 324 companies.

Among the 13 market groups, three saw an increase, while the remaining ten groups recorded a decline. Notably, the highest increase was in the commercial bank group, which rose by 1.10 percent to 1,279.34 points, followed by the non-life insurance group, which increased by 0.64 percent to 12,349.15 points.

On the other hand, the highest trading group, hydropower, saw a decrease of 0.26 percent, falling to 64,423.23 points. Other groups such as development banks, finance, hotel and tourism, life insurance, and microfinance also saw declines, ranging from 0.05 percent to 1.57 percent.
