MYADGI: The bodies of two people buried in a landslide in Ghiwang, Annapurna Rural Municipality-5, Myagdi, have been recovered following continuous rainfall.
Two other people who were trapped in a landslide at Phagam in Dana, Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, were rescued alive, according to the District Administration Office.
Assistant Chief District Officer Kul Prasad Acharya confirmed that the bodies of 75-year-old Siuk Kumari Garbuja and 56-year-old Domaya Garbuja were recovered from the landslide in Ghiwang.
Meanwhile, approximately 35-year-old Kumari Wali BK died after being buried in a landslide at Chepare in Beni Municipality-3, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Karki of the District Police Office.
Acharya said a security team transported by a Nepal Army helicopter rescued the two people trapped in the Phagam landslide and was bringing them to Beni. Three people have died in Myagdi in landslides today.
Chief District Officer Ganesh Gaire said a person buried in a landslide at Aunla in Malika Rural Municipality-3 was also rescued.
Meanwhile, as roads and trails remain blocked, security personnel and relief supplies are being sent by Nepal Army helicopter to landslide-affected areas of Annapurna Rural Municipality, Gaire said.
According to Baburam Poudel, a teacher at Gyan Prakash Secondary School in Dana, Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, the house of Gangabahadur Paija was buried by a landslide in Phagam.
Continuous rainfall since Thursday has disrupted road and electricity services in Myagdi. Communication services have also been affected, making disaster response more difficult.
