Stabbing on Cambridgeshire train leaves 10 hospitalized, two arrested

LONDON: Ten people are hospitalized, with nine reportedly sustaining life-threatening injuries, following a stabbing incident on a train in Cambridgeshire, BBC reported.

Cambridgeshire Police have arrested two individuals, and images show officers attending the scene at Huntingdon station.

The force has declared a “major incident” and confirmed that counter-terrorism units will assist with the investigation.

The attack occurred on the 18:25 service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross.

An eyewitness said they saw a man running through the carriage with a bloodied arm, shouting “they’ve got a knife, run,” while another person collapsed to the floor.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the “appalling incident” in Cambridgeshire as “deeply concerning” and urged the public to heed local authorities’ guidance.
