Trade fair empowers women entrepreneurs: Vice President Yadav

LALITPUR: Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has stated that the Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair plays a key role in helping women entrepreneurs become self-reliant.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 9th International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, organized by the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Nepal to support sales promotion and marketing of women-led products, Vice President Yadav said that women entrepreneurs are the driving force behind a self-reliant, inclusive, and sustainable society.

“Women entrepreneurship contributes not only to individual economic empowerment but also to social transformation and national development. When women showcase their potential through entrepreneurship, it benefits families, communities, and the nation. Products by women entrepreneurs reduce imports, encourage exports, create employment, utilize local resources, and strengthen a self-reliant economy,” he said.

Vice President Yadav expressed confidence that the trade fair would help district-level women entrepreneurs reach wider markets and contribute to the national economy. He also noted that entrepreneurship fosters an inclusive society by involving women in economic activities, and that production based on local resources and skills promotes environmentally friendly and sustainable development.

Federation President Darshana Shrestha highlighted that the fair supports the national campaign for women entrepreneurship and noted that more than 5,700 women are currently affiliated with the Federation. The trade fair will run for three days.
