16 arrested from various locations with drugs



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 16 individuals from various parts of the country on charges of drug possession during routine patrol operations.

According to the Central Police News Room, two individuals were arrested from Gongabu Mitranagar in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26. One person each was apprehended from Radhakrishna Tole in Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-13, Dang; Kauwapur in Lamkichuha Municipality-4; Semrah in Rohini Rural Municipality-4, Rupandehi; and Chhipaban in Ward No. 6 of the same municipality.

Similarly, one person each was arrested from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-2 in Bardiya; Dipuchok in Gauradaha Municipality-1, Jhapa; Kakadbhitta Bus Park in Mechinagar Municipality-6; and Urlabari Municipality-7 in Morang. In addition, three individuals were arrested from Mechipul in Bhadrapur Municipality-5, Jhapa.

A police team from the Mulghat Police Station also arrested three individuals in Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality, Dhankuta, seizing 44 kg of marijuana. Cash was recovered from some of the accused.
