Workers’ toil drives the nation forward: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has extended his best wishes to workers in Nepal and abroad on the occasion of International Labour Day.

In a message shared on social media, PM Oli acknowledged the invaluable contributions of workers, stating that society has endured and the nation has progressed through their sweat and dedication.

Recalling the initial criticism and satire he faced while introducing the contribution-based social security scheme for workers, Oli noted that the initiative has now benefited over two million workers.

He emphasized that the scheme has not only ensured job security but also safeguarded the future of workers’ families.

Oli added that these efforts have brought visible positive changes, especially reflected in the “bright faces of children.”

“Let us respect labor, let us respect workers. Jaya Shramik, Jaya Desh!” the message concluded.
