Daraundi fields turn lush green with paddy (Photos)

GORKHA: The fields along the Daraundi River in Gorkha district have turned a vibrant green with the cultivation of paddy.

Farmers in the region, who grow rice twice a year—in Chaite (spring) and Asar (monsoon)—are currently busy harvesting their ‘Chaite’ crop.

Thanks to the Daraundi River, which provides a reliable source of irrigation, local farmers also grow vegetables alongside rice.

Originating from the lap of the Bouddha Himal, the Daraundi River flows along the border of Gorkha Municipality and Siranchowk Rural Municipality, nourishing the fertile fields along its course.

The lush green landscape has become a scenic attraction for travelers passing through the area.
