APF beats Sudurpaschim Province by three wickets in PM Cup

KATHMANDU: In a riveting encounter in the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Tournament 2024, the Armed Police Force Club (APF) emerged triumphant by defeating Sudurpaschim Province by three wickets on Tuesday in a low-scoring match.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, APF showcased exceptional bowling prowess, restricting Sudurpaschim Province to a mere 87 runs in 16.2 overs.

Chandan Ram spearheaded the attack, setting the pitch ablaze with a sensational 5-wicket haul against Sudur Paschim Province, conceding 51 runs in seven overs.

Bhuvan Karki complemented the performance by taking three wickets for the team.

In response to the modest target of 88 runs, APF successfully chased down the total in 14.1 overs, losing seven wickets in the process.

No batsman managed to score higher than 18 runs, highlighting the disciplined bowling effort by Sudurpaschim Province.

For Sudurpaschim Province, Dipak Chandra stood out with an impressive four-wicket haul, while Naren Saud contributed with three wickets.

Despite their bowling efforts, APF’s determined chase secured them a well-deserved victory in this thrilling encounter.
