KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal has accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of being the primary obstacle in resolving the dedicated feeder and trunk line disputes.

Speaking at an interaction program on “The Sociology of Water Resources in Nepal” on Sunday, Bhusal alleged that Oli’s direct involvement exacerbated the problem.

Bhusal emphasized that if Oli had refrained from interfering and allowed Nepal Electricity Authority Managing Director Kulman Ghising to work independently, the situation could have been resolved.

He also remarked that electricity users should bear the cost for the power they consume.

Commenting on UML’s internal state, Bhusal stated that Oli’s leadership has led to dissatisfaction within the party.

He suggested that Oli stepping down from the leadership position would be beneficial for UML.

Bhusal also noted the confrontational reactions he has received for his remarks on UML, with some accusing him of meddling in their party affairs.

Prime Minister Oli’s Chief Political Adviser, Bishnu Rimal, had earlier challenged Bhusal and other dissenters, including Bhim Rawal, to form their own party if they had the courage.

In response, Bhusal pointed out that issues in UML affect the political environment broadly, likening it to the collapse of a neighboring house causing disruption to others.
