Take necessary measures to mitigate impact of cold: Mets



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported a partial effect of the westerly wind prevailing in Nepal.

Hilly areas are experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the regions remain predominantly clear during the morning hours.

The Division, through its regular bulletin, has alerted about the presence of fog in most of the Terai locations across the country.

Moving into this afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas, as mentioned by the Division.

The bulletin also indicates a potential for light snowfall at select locations in the high hilly and Himalayan regions.

As night falls, hilly areas will witness partly to mostly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the land is anticipated to stay mostly clear.

The Division has highlighted the likelihood of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and Himalayan areas, specifically in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, the Division foresees the possibility of light snowfall at one or two locations in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Additionally, the Terai regions are expected to be covered by mist and fog in most places, posing potential disruptions to daily life, health, transport, and air traffic, as communicated by the Division.

The Division has urged the public to take necessary measures and precautions to mitigate the impact of the cold and associated challenges.
