KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, is being airlifted to Kathmandu after his health deteriorated.
Sirohiya has been in police custody for more than a week.
While in custody, he was initially admitted to Kavya Hospital and is now being airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment.
Sirohiya was arrested in Kathmandu last Tuesday in connection with a dual citizenship case.
The District Court of Dhanusha on Monday granted an additional three days of custody for Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, to facilitate further investigation.
On Monday, the court authorized the police to keep Sirohiya in custody for an additional three days.
Judge Yaduraj Sharma’s bench allowed three more days for investigation into the charges against Sirohiya.
Previously, benches led by Judge Romakant Gyawali and Judge Churaman Khadka had each granted three-day custody periods for the investigation.
Earlier, Sirohiya had reached District Court in Kavya Hospital’s ambulance.
