RSP presents 26-point suggestions to Health Minister



KATHMANDU: The Health Department of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) submitted a comprehensive 26-point suggestion letter to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, at the Ministry in Kathmandu today.

Led by Dr. Toshima Karki, a member of the House of Representatives and head of the health department of the party, the team presented the charter of suggestions aimed at enhancing the health sector.

The recommendations encompass various aspects, including advocating for emergency healthcare services to become the sole responsibility of the State, prioritizing and strengthening the health insurance program to ensure it is robust, user-friendly, and transparent.

Additionally, the RSP proposed a review of treatment and healthcare fees, effective management of medical and health human resources, and expeditious creation of necessary posts.

Furthermore, the RSP emphasized the importance of intensifying monitoring and regulation of healthcare providers to understand the condition of equipment purchased in hospitals and health institutions.

The party proposed the formation of a ‘Healthcare Regulatory Council’ comprising all regulatory bodies in the long term.

Dr. Karki emphasized, “We have a team of experts dedicated to addressing health sector issues. Our recommendations are based on thorough research, and we are prepared to collaborate and assist.”

Health Minister Yadav acknowledged the need for reforms in the health sector, emphasizing the importance of ensuring quality and affordable healthcare services for all citizens.

He expressed his commitment to consider and implement the suggestions provided by the RSP, emphasizing the importance of equipment and manpower in delivering effective healthcare services.

Minister Yadav assured cooperation and sought assistance from the RSP when necessary.
