KATHMANDU: Bagmati Province emerged victorious with a commanding six-wicket win against Lumbini Province in a thrilling match of the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024 held on Saturday at the Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur.

Opting to bowl first, Bagmati Province’s strategic decision proved successful as Surya Tamang delivered an outstanding performance, securing six wickets in a masterful bowling spell.

Bipin Acharya supported Tamang’s effort by contributing two wickets for the team.

Facing a modest target of 106 runs set by Lumbini Province, Bagmati Province chased down the total in just 17.2 overs to secure the win.

Ishan Pandey played a pivotal role, scoring 50 runs, while Rit Gautam added 24 runs to the scoreboard.

Despite the challenging situation, Lumbini Province’s Sushant Thapa managed to contribute 28 runs, and Nirmal Gurung added 27 runs.

In the bowling department for Lumbini, Nirmal Gurung took two wickets, while Krishna Karki claimed one wicket.
