KATHMANDU: Chair of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has claimed that the current government led by KP Sharma Oli will not last long.

While inaugurating the 23rd National Conference of Akhil Krantikari, a student organization close to the party, in Kirtipur, Kathmandu on Thursday, he claimed that the internal dispute between Nepali Congress and UML has started.

Prachanda emphasized the need for the party to consider its next steps following the imminent collapse of the Congress-UML alliance.

He highlighted the significant achievements made by the Maoists during their time in government, stating that these contributions should be better recognized among the public.

Prachanda called for the democratic selection of leadership within the organization, clarifying that the party would not interfere in this process, and urged against factionalism during leadership formation.

“No one can deny that the federal democratic republic, inclusive, proportional representation state system was established in Nepal because of the Maoists,” he asserted, reflecting on the historical significance of the civil war  and the constitutional assembly’s work.

Prachanda further recalled his initiatives as the first Prime Minister of the Republic, mentioning the Madhyapahari Lokmarg, which is nearing completion, and the East-West Madan Bhandari Lokmarg, which he initiated, highlighting the Maoists’ pivotal role in infrastructure development.
