PM Cup: APF dominates, defeats Lumbini Province by seven wickets

KATHMANDU: In a thrilling match of the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024, the departmental team, Armed Police Force (APF), exhibited a commanding performance by defeating Lumbini Province by seven wickets.

Captain Rohit Poudel’s impressive half-century and an outstanding five-wicket haul by Ramesh Kurmi played pivotal roles in APF’s success against Lumbini Province.

Chasing a modest target of 134 runs, APF confidently achieved victory, reaching the target with just three wickets down in 22.3 overs.

Notable contributions to the winning total came from Puran BK, who scored 33 runs, and Amar Rautela, remaining not out with eight runs. The solid batting display showcased APF’s determination to secure the win.

Lumbini Province, opting to bat after winning the toss, saw Dilsad Ali as their top scorer with 39 runs, while opener Mirnal Gurung added 34 runs to the total.

In the bowling department, Ramesh Kurmi’s outstanding performance included taking five wickets, delivering two maiden overs for APF.
