PM Oli urges industrialists to invest in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli, also the Chairperson of the CPN-UML, has called on industrialists to invest in Nepal, highlighting the investment-friendly environment being cultivated in the country.

Speaking at an awareness assembly organized by the UML Kathmandu Valley’s three district committees at Durbar Marg, Prime Minister Oli encouraged investors to proceed with confidence, emphasizing the government’s commitment to creating a “Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali” through the maintenance of peace and security.

“Nepal’s economy was in a difficult state, but it is improving thanks to the policies and plans adopted by the current UML-Congress-led government,” he stated.

PM Oli urged Nepalese industrialists and multinational companies to invest, assuring them of government support in terms of security and good governance.

“You should invest; the government will ensure safety and proper management,” he said.

In response to various rumors surrounding his administration, Prime Minister Oli remarked that there was no merit in believing such baseless claims.

He addressed accusations regarding deceptive practices in cooperatives, emphasizing that any form of fraud is unacceptable.

“The Nepali people will continue to strive for the vision of a ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali’ while honoring their cultural heritage,” he asserted. He also challenged his critics to engage in direct discussions.

Additionally, Prime Minister Oli highlighted the need for the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to collect arrears from defaulting industries while maintaining power supply to them, stressing that those not repaying bank loans could jeopardize the country’s economy.
