PM Oli refutes any misunderstandings between UML and NC
Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has asserted that there are no misunderstandings at present between the ruling parties, particularly the UML and the Nepali Congress (NC).
While addressing a rally organized by the CPN-UML in Kathmandu on Friday, Oli indicated that he has no issues collaborating with the Nepali Congress as a potential coalition partner.
He confirmed that the coalition government, which includes both the Nepali Congress and UML, will continue until the elections scheduled for 2084 BS.
KMC fines UML Rs 100,000 for littering
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has fined the ruling CPN-UML Rs 100,000 for littering that occurred during a public meeting.
The fine was issued on Friday, December 22, after the event held on an open road at Durbarmarg resulted in significant littering, which polluted the area.
NC against acquiring new loans associated with BRI
The Nepali Congress (NC) has resolved to refrain from taking new loans under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) until the Chinese government fulfills its grant commitments.
During a meeting today, which included economists and foreign affairs experts to discuss Nepal’s current economic situation and reform measures, the Nepali Congress decided against acquiring new loans associated with the BRI.
Former Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said the discussions, stating that existing commitments from China must be honored.
Cooperative Fraud Case: Arrest warrants issued for 10, including Rabi in Chitwan
An arrest warrant has been issued for 10 individuals, including Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, in connection with a cooperative embezzlement and fraud case in Chitwan.
The warrant was issued on Friday following a supplementary complaint filed by victims against former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane on Wednesday.
Three youths killed in high-speed motorcycle collision
Three youths died, and another was seriously injured following a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Morang. The injured youth is currently in critical condition.
According to the District Police Office in Morang, the accident occurred on Thursday evening at a location known as Mangbare in Urlabari-3, Morang, along the East-West Highway.
Investment friendly environment created in Nepal: Finance Minister Paudel
Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that an investment-friendly environment has been created in the country.
Speaking in a news conference held here today, he mentioned that after Nepal got a BB score in the sovereign credit rating, Nepal has become a suitable environment for investment.
He said that the rating indicates that Nepal’s economic structure, public finance mobilization and macroeconomic and financial conditions are investment-friendly and advanced.
One arrested with 2 kg of gold in Rasuwa
A man has been arrested in Rasuwa with two kilograms of gold.
Police apprehended 34-year-old Karma Sonam Lama, a resident of Bridhim in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-3, last night in Kalika Rural Municipality-1.
Officers from the Temporary Police Post in Grang discovered the gold while inspecting a motorcycle (Bagmati Province 02-043 Pa 2434) that was en route to Kalika.

Supporters of Durga Prasai hold protest rally in Koteshwor
Supporters of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai protested in Koteshwor while Prasai remains in custody.
Prasai, who had planned to hold a rally in Kathmandu on November 22 to challenge the ruling CPN-UML, was arrested 20 and is currently detained at the Cyber Bureau in Bhotahity.
Despite his arrest, Prasai called on his supporters to gather in Kathmandu via Facebook, leading to a significant turnout in Koteshwor under the banner of the ‘Citizens’ Liberation Movement.’
Foreign Minister Rana to travel to Germany after China visit
Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana is scheduled to visit Germany after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official trip to China.
According to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Rana is anticipated to arrive in Germany on December 14, with official meetings planned for December 15 and 16.
During her visit, Rana will meet with her German counterpart, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, as well as other officials.
Gold price up by Rs 1,500 per tola today
The price of gold increased in the Nepali market today.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers, the price of gold increased by Rs 1,500 per tola on Friday, bringing the current rate to Rs 165,500 per tola.
On Thursday, gold was trading at Rs 164,000 per tola. In contrast, the price of silver has remained stable.
Unity process has begun: Prachanda
Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chairman of the Maoist Center, announced that the fragmented Maoist parties are now embarking on a path toward unification.
Spekaing to party cadres in Kuringtar in Chitwan on Friday, Dahal stated that the series of divisions has ended and the unification process has commenced.
“There is no alternative to unification now. The splits have stopped, and all Maoists are moving toward unity,” Chairman Dahal asserted.
Speaker Ghimire meets President before leaving for Cambodia

Indian Army Chief Dwivedi meets with PM Oli
General Upendra Dwivedi, the Indian Army Chief, is on a five-day official visit to Nepal and met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar on Friday.
As part of his visit, which commenced last Wednesday, Dwivedi received the honorary title of General of the Nepali Army (NA) from President Ram Chandra Poudel the day prior.
