KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee on Misuse of Cooperative Savings held discussions with representatives from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and local governments regarding the state of cooperatives.

During the committee’s 19th meeting on Monday at Singha Durbar, discussions were held with the Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, as well as representatives from the Municipal Association and the National Association of Rural Municipalities, according to Committee Coordinator Surya Thapa.

Thapa reported that during the discussions, it was revealed that none of the 24,000 cooperatives at the local level have encountered issues related to fraud.
