KATHMANDU: Tragedy strikes once again as another Nepali national, enlisted in the Russian army, has fallen victim to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Jeet Bahadur BK, aged 36 and hailing from Tara Khola Rural Municipality-2 in Baglung district, is the latest casualty in the harrowing saga of war.

San Bahadur BK, the victim’s brother-in-law, confirmed the news of Jeet Bahadur’s demise, shedding light on the grim reality faced by countless families affected by the conflict.

The incident occurred on Magh 20, yet the bereaved family only received the heartbreaking news on Wednesday, exacerbating their anguish and sorrow.

According to San Bahadur, Jeet Bahadur initially embarked on his journey to Russia on a tourist visa, only to later enlist in the Russian army.

“We received the distressing news through the agent who facilitated Jeet Bahadur’s journey to Russia. The family has since obtained official documentation from the hospital, confirming the loss of BK,” San Bahadur lamented, grappling with the weight of the tragedy.

In a poignant display of grief and remembrance, the victim’s family conducted a symbolic funeral ceremony on Wednesday of Jeet Bahadur.
