Investigation on TIA manhandling incident begins



KATHMANDU: Police have started investigation into the incident of manhandling of a youth by police personnel at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Chief of Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, Additional Inspector General Tek Bahadur Tamang told RSS that investigation has started against three police personnel involved in the incident that took place few days ago.

A video where three police personnel misbehaved with Sanjay Ojha of Morang, who arrived in Kathmandu from the UAE, at TIA on April 13 went viral in social media platforms.

“We have started investigation after removing the police personnel from their responsibility at TIA. The facts behind the incident will be established after the investigation.”

The incident had taken place when Ojha passed the custom checking and reached the parking lot at TIA after returning home from overseas employment.
