KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Oli emphasized that there would be no reconciliation with the Unified Socialist Party, setting a clear stance at the party’s central office in Chyasal on Thursday.

UML Chairman Oli acknowledged the leaders and activists who had defected from various parties to join the UML, but outlined strict conditions for entry.

Addressing a meeting at the party office, Chyasal on Thursday, Oli made it explicit that individuals who refuse to express regret for their role in splitting the party, particularly those targeting Madhav Nepal, and those unwilling to repent for orchestrating the overthrow of the two-thirds government to establish a right-wing government, would not be welcomed into the UML.

UML Chairman Oli asserted, “If mistakes have been made, we should acknowledge them and move forward.”

However, he said, those who lack remorse for fracturing the party, weakening it, toppling the two-thirds government, and forming a right-wing government without admitting any wrongdoing will not find a place within the ranks.

“Only those who genuinely feel remorse for their actions will be considered for entry,” he added.

He continued, “The momentum of individuals eager to join our party is rapidly increasing. We are open to those who acknowledge their mistakes and genuinely repent for their past actions.”

Among the recent entrants to the UML are Deputy General Secretary of Prabhu Sah-led Aam Janata Party and former state MP Kundan Kuswaha, along with central members Arvind Kumar Yadav, Sanjay Kumar Shah, Sarfalal Mahato, Deepak Kumar Dubey, Surendra Prasad Chaudhary, and others.
