Cabinet meeting makes four key decisions



KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting held on Monday took four different decisions, including the appointment of Joint Secretary Mukesh Dangol as Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

Government spokesperson and Minister for Education Sasmit Pokharel informed that the meeting took decisions related to the Ministry of Finance and several other ministries.

The decisions are as follows:

  1. Approval of the reply letter to be sent to the Chinese government for the implementation of the Nepal-China cross-border electricity transmission line project (Chilime-Kerung).
  2. Fixing the minimum support price for monsoon paddy crops for the fiscal year 2026/27. Under the decision, the price of coarse paddy has been set at Rs 3,660 per quintal and medium-grade paddy at Rs 3,860 per quintal.
  3. Making public the report of the Commission of Inquiry on irregularities in cooperatives, 2025.
  4. Appointment of Joint Secretary Mukesh Dangol as Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
