Nepali Congress boycotts Gandaki Provincial Assembly meeting

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress parliamentary party in Gandaki Province has declared a boycott of the scheduled Gandaki Provincial Assembly meeting for this afternoon.

The party’s decision stems from its stance that the current Chief Minister’s appointment is unconstitutional, a matter currently under Supreme Court review.

Nepali Congress contends that convening the assembly meeting while the case remains sub-judice violates legal norms.

Nepali Congress criticizes the appointment of UML’s parliamentary party leader Khagaraj Adhikari as Chief Minister with support from the Speaker, labeling it unconstitutional.

Additionally, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has announced its decision to join Nepali Congress in abstaining from today’s meeting.
