Prime Minister Balen heads to Mustang on private visit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen), who is on a private visit to Mustang, continued his journey toward Jomsom on Saturday after passing through Rupse Waterfall in Annapurna Rural Municipality-3 of Myagdi.

Rupse Waterfall is a popular stop for tourists travelling to and from Mustang, who often pause there to take photographs and videos. Shah and his team, however, continued directly toward Jomsom without stopping at the waterfall.

Shah had earlier taken a one-hour break at Hotel Natural Spring in Tatopani, Myagdi, before resuming his journey toward Jomsom.

His journey had been disrupted after landslides blocked the Beni-Jomsom road at Sukebagar in Annapurna Rural Municipality-3 and Baisari in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2 of Myagdi. Both landslides have since been cleared and the road reopened.

Shah had reached Pokhara on Friday while travelling to Mustang by road. He stayed overnight at Annapurna Eco Village Resort in Astam village near Pokhara before departing for Mustang on Saturday.

His visit is expected to help promote Mustang as a tourist destination and potentially boost visitor arrivals.
