Ruling coalition unveils Common Minimum Program



KATHMANDU: The Common Minimum Program (CMP) of the ruling five-party coalition was unveiled during an event held in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The CMP was made public at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, in the presence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and the top leaders of the parties in the ruling alliance.

The ruling coalition comprises CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Janata Samajbadi Party and CPN-Unified Socialist.

A 10-member task force was established by the five-party coalition to draft the CMP.

It encompasses the coalition’s priorities, including addressing the grievances of cooperative and loansharking victims, enhancing the federal republic, and revitalizing the sluggish economy, among others.

The five-party coalition has been in power since March 3.
