Formation of committee to calculate arrears based on TOD



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has formed a three-member expert committee to study the invoices issued by the Nepal Electricity Authority for the dedicated feeder and trunkline power users.

The three-member committee has been formed under the coordination of Professor Arvind Kumar Mishra of National College of Engineering with the mandate to collect and verify the necessary facts and evidence related to dedicated feeder and trunkline power tariff arrears.

The members of the committee are Chartered Accountant Sujan Kumar Kafle and Shriramraj Pandey.

The committee will recalculate and check the invoices issued earlier based on the Time of Day (TOD) meter based on the recommendations made by the Girish Chandra Lal-led commission and the decision made by the Cabinet, said Energy Minister Dipak Khadka.

According to the report of the Commission, the committee has been entrusted to prove and verify the necessary facts regarding the calculation of electricity tariffs of customers who used electricity from dedicated feeders and trunk lines on the basis of TOD meters.
