KATHMANDU: The Council of Ministers is set to convene for a crucial meeting on Sunday evening.
The meeting is slated to commence at 5 pm at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar.
During a parliamentary session earlier today, the main opposition party, CPN-UML, demanded the resignation of three ministers.
UML Whip Mahesh Bartaula called for the resignations of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala, Minister for Health and Population Mohan Basnet, and Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati.
Bartaula cited Minister Jwala’s alleged involvement in a case related to the death of two youths in Lalitpur on December 29 as grounds for resignation.
Additionally, he pointed out allegations of corruption against Health Minister Basnet and accused Minister Kirati of misappropriation of resources from the Lumbini Development Fund.
In light of these developments, the Cabinet is expected to address these issues and make significant decisions, alongside other matters concerning day-to-day administration.
