KATHMANDU: A high-level delegation led by the Director General of India’s Sashastra Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB), Amrit Mohan Prasad, called on Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak today.

The meeting, held at the Home Ministry in Singha Durbar, focused on enhancing cooperation between the Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal and the SSB to strengthen border security.

During the discussion, the Minister called for additional support and cooperation from the SSB in addressing cross-border issues such as drug smuggling, human trafficking, and other criminal activities.

He stressed that efforts to maintain peace and order, as well as combat crime, should be conducted in a cordial environment, ensuring the convenience of citizens.

He urged the concerned authorities to ensure that citizens are treated well during their cross-border movements between Nepal and India.

“Nepal and India share long-standing relations,” he said, expressing hope that the cooperation between the SSB and APF would further strengthen the ties between the two countries.

Home Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi and APF Inspector General Raju Aryal were also present at the meeting.

The Indian SSB delegation arrived in Kathmandu to participate in the annual coordination meeting between Nepal’s APF and India’s SSB.
