Land titles distributed to 483 families in Mithila Municipality



JANAKPURDHAM: A total of 483 landless families of Mithila Municipality of Dhanusha received land ownership certificate today. The land titles were distributed to the (landless) squatters of wards no. 6, 7, 8 and 9 of the Municipality.

The Survey Office, Dhalkebar, has stated that land titles were distributed to the squatters who have been using the land of the village without land titles. Team chief Siyaram Sah said that the land titles were distributed after completing the survey process along with the necessary documents. According to him, 658 people had applied for land titles at the team’s office.

Earlier, the team had distributed land titles to 64 (landless) squatter families of Wards No. 1, 6 and 7 of the municipality.

District Coordination Committee Chief Rajnandan Mandal, Mithila Mayor Mahendra Mahato and other officials distributed the land title deed to the concerned landowners.

There are 75 village blocks in Dhanusha district. Of these, land in 72 village blocks has been surveyed. The Survey Office has stated that land titles for 12 village blocks have been distributed. (RSS)
