DDA urges halt to sale of Unimol Tablets showing quality concerns



KATHMANDU: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has called for a cessation in the sale and distribution of “Unimol” tablets produced by Unique Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.

The DDA cited concerns over the quality of Unimol, stating that recent tests revealed it falls below standards.

“In light of tests conducted in routine drug testing laboratories, it has been determined that the quality of Unimol tablets manufactured by Unique Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. does not meet the required standards,” stated the DDA. “Therefore, we urge relevant authorities to cease the sale and distribution of Unimol tablets.”

The DDA specified that batch number 2369 of Unimol tablets was produced in June 2023.

This action aligns with Section 14 of the Drug Act 2035, according to the Department.
