Moderate rainfall likely in several provinces today



KATHMANDU: Light to moderate rainfall has been forecast in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces later today due to the influence of westerly and local winds.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, one or two places in these provinces may also experience thunderstorms and lightning.

The Division stated that the hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, while most areas in the southern plains are likely to witness mainly fair weather conditions.

Light snowfall is also possible in some high-hill and Himalayan regions, the Division added.

Meanwhile, hot weather conditions are expected to persist in the southern plains of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
