EC releases sample ballot paper for NA elections



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has publicly released the sample ballot for the National Assembly elections scheduled for January 25, on Wednesday.

The Commission published the sample ballot on its website, categorizing them based on provinces.

Mayors, deputy mayors, and chairpersons-vice-chairpersons will cast their votes using a red-colored ballot, while members of the Provincial Assembly will use a green-colored ballot.

In the National Assembly election, 51 candidates from eight political parties are participating.

For this election, candidate nominations were registered on January 8.

According to the commission, there are five candidates each in Koshi and Madhes, 15 in Bagmati, eight in Gandaki, and six in Lumbini Province.

Similarly, there are six candidates each in Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province.

There are 18 candidates for the women’s group, five for the Dalit group, eight for persons with disabilities or minority communities, and 20 for other groups, making a total of 51 candidates in all provinces.
