National taekwondo competition begins today



KATHMANDU: The 25th ITF Taekwondo Competition, organized by the Nepal International Taekwondo Federation, is set to begin today (Friday).

According to Federation President Prabin Kumar Karki, the event will include individual sparring, individual pattern, group sparring, group pattern, and self-defense categories. Participants will compete for a total of 33 gold, 33 silver, and 66 bronze medals.

Around 300 players from all seven provinces, along with teams from the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force (APF), will take part in the two-day event. The second U-15 National School ITF Taekwondo Competition will also be organized alongside the main tournament.

In the U-15 category, 150 players will compete for 20 gold, 20 silver, and 40 bronze medals. The competitions will be held at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwor.
