KATHMANDU: Starting today, motorists in Kathmandu will have to pay Rs 171 per liter for petrol following a hike by the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).

The decision, approved by the NOC’s Board of Directors, raised the price of petrol by Rs 4 per liter, while diesel and kerosene prices increase by Rs 3 per liter, according to spokesperson Manoj Thakur.

The new rates set petrol at Rs 171 per liter and diesel and kerosene at Rs 160 per liter in the Kathmandu Valley.

NOC officials attributed the price adjustment to a recent upward revision in fuel costs from India.
