NC leader Shekhar Koirala says he is not aligned with any faction

KATHMANDU: Leader of the Nepali Congress, Shekhar Koirala, has clarified that he is not affiliated with any faction within the party.

Speaking at the annual general meeting of BP Memorial Community Cooperative Hospital in Kathmandu on Saturday, Koirala objected to recent claims linking him to the non-establishment faction within the party. He said misleading narratives were being spread on social media associating him with different groups.

Koirala said his main objective is to unite the Nepali Congress and pledged to continue efforts toward that goal. He expressed his commitment to strengthening party unity and establishing the party as the leading political force in the upcoming elections.

“I will continue my efforts until the end to unite the Nepali Congress and bring it together. I am not aligned with any group,” he said.

On the occasion, Koirala also said that retired doctors could play an important role in effectively operating the hospital established in the name of Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala.
