Loktantrik Samajbadi Party quits Madhes govt

JANAKPURDHAM: On the day scheduled for Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav’s vote of confidence, the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) has exited the Madhes government.

Ramesh Prasad Kurmi, who previously held the position of Minister of Forests and Environment from the LSP, tendered his resignation on Tuesday.

According to lawmaker Upendra Mahato, the LSP will vote against Chief Minister Yadav today.

The Madhes Province Assembly meeting convened to decide on Chief Minister Yadav’s vote of confidence has not resumed following disruptions caused by protests from Janamat Party lawmakers.

After the Janamat Party’s protest, the Provincial Assembly was adjourned for 10 minutes.
