In the final match held at the Baijanathpur Cricket Ground in Biratnagar-19 on Saturday, the Nepali Army defeated Karnali Province by nine wickets to claim the championship.

Having won the toss and opted to bat, Karnali had set a target of 110 runs for the Army in the stipulated 20 overs.

The Army successfully chased down the target, losing just one wicket and scoring 112 runs in 12.2 overs to secure victory.

Imran Sheikh’s six helped the Army reach the target.

Nepal Army’s opener Tritharaj Das scored an impressive half-century with 33 runs off 24 balls, including two sixes and five boundaries.

Similarly, Imran Sheikh contributed 38 runs with two sixes.

With this win, the Army has become the undefeated team in the competition. As the Group ‘A’ winner, the Army has also defended the title.

The Army secured its place in the final journey, defeating Sudurpaschim Province by five wickets.

The Army, having won the titles of the two major national tournaments in the past, missed out on the trophy of the Koshi Province Trophy, having been eliminated earlier.

In this season, the Army had reached the finals of the Prime Minister’s Cup and the KP Oli Cup but remained unsuccessful in winning either trophy.
